Henderson County Inmate Lookup
Henderson County has two official lookup paths for county jail records. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office inmate lookup page says the inmate lookup feature is available through the HCSO mobile app. The official detention-center page repeats that direction for people held at the Henderson County Detention Center. That app route matters because it is the channel the sheriff names for searching the jail population.
The second official path is Citizen Connect Inmate Confinements, a Southern Software web tool linked from HCSO navigation. It organizes Henderson County jail records around current confinement, admits by date range, charges, and arresting agency. A separate Citizen Connect Daily Report includes a Bookings tab and public report views. Use the Daily Report for recent booking context, not as a full replacement for current-confinement search.
The HCSO app and Citizen Connect are official, but they do not cover every custody type. A person sentenced to North Carolina prison moves to NCDAC records. A federal defendant may be in U.S. Marshals custody before sentencing or BOP custody after sentencing. Immigration detention is checked through ICE. For notification, NC SAVAN and VINELink cover county jail inmates, state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders.
Henderson County Roster Channels
The sheriff's app path is documented through the app listing and the sheriff's inmate lookup page. The Google Play listing names the app Henderson Co Sheriff's Office and identifies OCV, LLC as publisher. The listing describes public-safety news, tips, reporting features, and resident communication. It also says the app is not for emergencies, so emergency matters still go to 911.
The app's inmate search fields were not visible in the public web listing. For that reason, Henderson County inmate records should not be described as having verified app fields unless the app screen is inspected. Citizen Connect is the browser-based option with visible controls. Its Inmate Confinements interface has tabs or filters for Current Confinements, Admits by Date Range, Charges, and Arresting Agency. The date tools include custom start and end dates, Last 24 hours, and Last 7 days, with a visible notice limiting custom date ranges to 31 days or less.
The official Citizen Connect homepage for Henderson County Sheriff's Office shows the Inmate Confinements and Daily Report links in one place.
That page is useful when a direct roster link fails, because it keeps the official confinement and report tools under the same HCSO agency selection.
Search Henderson County Jail Records
Start with the source that fits the search task. Current custody belongs in the app or Current Confinements. Recent intake can be checked through Admits by Date Range or the Daily Report Bookings tab. Charge and agency filters help when the person has a common name or when the arresting department is known. If online channels do not show the person, call the detention center before assuming release.
- Open the HCSO inmate lookup page and use the mobile app if a phone or tablet is available. The sheriff identifies the app as the inmate lookup channel for the detention center.
- For browser search, open Citizen Connect and choose Inmate Confinements. Use Current Confinements first when the question is whether the person is now held at the Henderson County Detention Center.
- Use Admits by Date Range for recent bookings. Keep a custom range within 31 days, or use Last 24 hours and Last 7 days when those presets fit.
- Filter by charge or arresting agency when known. Local agency values include HCSO, Hendersonville Police Department, Fletcher Police Department, Laurel Park Police Department, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
- Use the Daily Report Bookings tab for public booking context. Incident and accident reports may lag up to 72 hours from filing, so do not treat that page as a real-time jail status guarantee.
- Call the Henderson County Detention Center at 828-694-3091 if the online search is blank, the name is unclear, or another agency hold may be involved.
Note: The sheriff administration number is for routing and non-detention questions; the detention line is the direct jail-status path.
Henderson County Search Fields
Citizen Connect gives the clearest public view of Henderson County jail roster search fields. The tool is not just a last-name search. It separates current custody from admissions and lets a user browse by charge or agency. That design is helpful in Henderson County because people can enter the jail from the sheriff, local police departments, courts, probation/parole, DOC, ICE, USMS, and other agencies.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Confinements | Tab | No | Current Henderson County jail custody view. |
| Admits by Date Range | Tab | No | Date-based admissions view for recent intake review. |
| Charges | Filter | No | Charge-oriented browsing or filtering after data loads. |
| Arresting Agency | Filter | No | Includes HCSO, Hendersonville PD, Fletcher PD, Laurel Park PD, N.C. Highway Patrol, DOC, ICE, USMS, courts, and probation/parole values. |
| Custom date range | Date range | No | Start date to end date, limited by the page to 31 days or less. |
| Last 24 hours | Preset | No | Quick recent-admits search. |
| Last 7 days | Preset | No | Broader recent-admits search. |
The official Citizen Connect Inmate Confinements page shows those tabs and filters in the browser.
The image also shows why the web tool should be treated as a filter-based confinement search, not as proof of every profile field a full app result may show.
Henderson County Record Fields
Henderson County inmate records need cautious field descriptions. The public HTML reviewed did not expose a complete loaded inmate profile. It verified the structure of the web tool, not the full content of a booking detail screen. Use confirmed categories when reading Citizen Connect: current confinement, admissions, charge filters, arresting agency filters, Daily Report bookings, and recent-report notices.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Current Confinements | Whether the person appears in the current county jail custody view. |
| Admits by Date Range | Recent intake records within a selected date range, with custom ranges capped at 31 days. |
| Charges | Charge-based filter context. A charge is not the same as a conviction. |
| Arresting Agency | The agency label tied to the booking or hold, such as HCSO, a local police department, DOC, ICE, or USMS. |
| Daily Report / Bookings | Recent public report context. Incident and accident reports may lag up to 72 hours. |
| Mugshot | Not verified in accessible public HTML. Do not assume a booking photo appears in browser results. |
| Bond, housing, court date | Not verified in the public roster HTML. Confirm bond with jail staff and court dates through NC eCourts or the Clerk. |
Record limit: Henderson County's public web interface is organized around confinement, admissions, charges, and agencies. It should not be described as a verified full inmate profile database.
Henderson County Jail Contact
The county facility list has one detention facility: the Henderson County Detention Center. It is operated by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office and houses pretrial detainees, local sentenced inmates, and people held for HCSO, Hendersonville Police Department, Laurel Park Police Department, Fletcher Police Department, N.C. Highway Patrol, and other agencies. The detention center page states the building opened in 2001, has 222 beds in five housing units, and sits directly behind the Sheriff's Office.

Routine incident reports are requested through the HCSO Records Division, which says incident report copies are available at 100 North Grove Street for no charge. FOIA and public-information requests submitted to HCSO are overseen by the Public Information Officer, Stephanie Barbosa, at sbarbosa@hendersoncountync.gov. That route is the better fit for a jail record or booking detail that is not visible through the app or Citizen Connect.
Henderson County Booking Intake
Booking begins when a person arrested by HCSO, Hendersonville Police Department, Fletcher Police Department, Laurel Park Police Department, N.C. Highway Patrol, a court, or another agency is brought to the Henderson County Detention Center. The county study describes booking as a high-activity area with receiving, holding, property, shower, classification, medical, and release functions. It also connects booking space to the vehicle sallyport and public lobby.
After receiving, jail staff process identity, arrest paperwork, property, and custody information. The Records Division says it maintains completeness, accuracy, and integrity of incidents and arrests filed by officers, including fingerprints and corrections made with SBI guidance. North Carolina jail rules require a written classification process. In plain terms, classification is the jail's process for housing and supervision decisions based on medical needs, security level, behavior, separation needs, and other criteria.
Phone access begins after booking. The sheriff's inmate-calls page says each inmate gets telephone access when booking is complete, and private-use phones are located in housing areas. No official source gave a guaranteed booking time or roster refresh schedule. For a new arrest that does not appear online, search again later and call 828-694-3091.
Henderson County Visit Rules
Lookup often leads to contact questions. Henderson County uses NCIC for video visitation and inmate telephone services. Visitors must create an account, upload a face photo and valid ID or driver's license, and wait for approval. The jail page says onsite visits are free but must be scheduled 24 hours in advance, while remote visits are charged per minute. A posted COVID-era line also says onsite visits were canceled, so onsite availability should be confirmed before travel.
| Visit type | Vendor or place | Schedule or limit | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remote video | NCIC | Schedule through NCIC; exact public schedule not published | $0.30 per minute |
| Onsite video | Detention Center | Schedule 24 hours ahead; one 15-minute onsite visit per week | Free |
| Attorney visit | Detention facility | Separate from the public no-contact rule | Not published |
| Clergy visit | Video system | Clergy must call 24 hours ahead for an approved time | Not published |
Henderson County mail rules are strict. Cards, stickers, photos, pictures, drawings, extra writing on the envelope, and packages are not accepted. Mail must include the sender's full name and address. The address format is inmate name, Henderson County Detention Center, 375 First Ave. East, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
County State Federal Custody
A Henderson County jail search is only for local jail custody and related booking context. NCDAC says its Offender Public Information Search does not include county jail data. It is for state prison offenders, probationers, parolees, and historical prison records. BOP is for federal sentenced inmates from 1982 to present. ICE's Online Detainee Locator System is for immigration detainees, not local charge details.
| Custody question | Use this channel | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current county jail custody | HCSO app, Citizen Connect, or Detention Center phone | Pretrial and local jail records, not state prison records. |
| State prison, probation, parole | NCDAC Offender Public Information Search | NCDAC says it does not have local jail records. |
| Custody alerts | NC SAVAN / VINELink | Notification tool, not a complete case file. |
| Federal sentenced inmate | BOP Inmate Locator | Federal inmates from 1982 to present. |
| Federal pretrial custody | U.S. Marshals Western District of North Carolina | BOP may not show a person before federal sentencing. |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | Separate from Henderson County booking records. |
The NCDAC offender search form includes status, name, offender number, gender, race, ethnicity, birth date, and age range fields.
Use that state form only after the person has moved into state prison, probation, parole, or historical NCDAC records.
Henderson County Jail Services
For calls, the sheriff identifies NCIC Inmate Communications. Inmates can make outside calls to approved family and friends. Incoming calls are not received except voicemail messages to approved inmates. Local, long-distance, and international calls are billed per minute, and the research found no connection fee on the sheriff page. Three-way calls are prohibited.
For canteen or deposits, the detention-center page links to Inmate Canteen. The researched source did not show deposit fees, kiosk rules, or limits, so those details should be checked at the vendor site before payment. Confirm custody first. Sending funds to the wrong person or before a transfer can slow the task that the family is trying to handle.
Note: Confirm custody, holds, and transfer status with the jail before sending money or scheduling a visit.
